Tour Overview
We begin our journey heading east, with panoramic views as we climb towards the Lasithi Plateau. Our first stop is the village of Krasi, known for its ancient 2,400-year-old plane tree and natural fountains. We then visit the mythical Cave of Zeus, followed by a traditional meal and raki in the village of Psychro.
Descending from the mountains, we arrive at Agios Nikolaos for sightseeing, lake views, and seaside lunch. The tour continues to the elite village of Elounda and the fishing village of Plaka, across from the historic Spinalonga Island. A quick swim in the crystal-clear sea completes this unforgettable East Crete adventure.
Morning Pick up
Through this trail we will explore the central part of Crete and we will walk on 2 plateaus reaching an altitude of 1150 meters. We will learn several things regarding the local mythology and receive more information on Crete and the local way of life.
1st stop: Krasi Village
Our first stop is in the village of Krasi, famous for its enormous 2,400-year-old plane tree and traditional stone fountains with natural water flowing year-round.
2nd stop: Cave of Zeus (Diktaean Cave)
We visit the legendary cave where, according to Greek mythology, Zeus was born. A site of myth and mystery deep in the Lasithi Plateau.
3rd stop: Psychro Village
At 830 meters altitude, we enjoy Cretan hospitality with local food, raki, and a peaceful traditional village setting.
4th stop: Agios Nikolaos
We arrive at the elegant town of Agios Nikolaos with its famous lake, shops, and seaside taverns where we enjoy our lunch by the sea.
5th stop: Plaka & Spinalonga View
We end up in the fishing village of Plaka with a majestic view of Spinalonga Island, where we relax and swim in crystal-clear waters.
